Quick Fix = temporary

We live in a world awash in quick fixes. You can have anything you want whenever you want it. It’s killing us! Especially when it comes to what we eat. When you decide you want to be healthy, lose weight and be your best, there are endless options promising impossible results, most of which make no sense. “I lost twenty pounds without using activity” - “Diet for rapid weight loss” - “lose weight fast”.

I’ve helped hundreds of people lose weight and keep it off as a health and wellness coach and I lost 65 lbs. myself and have been at a healthy weight since 2006. Here’s my advice regarding weight loss and good health. Practice habits you intend to continue for the rest of your life. Discipline and diligence wins the war for our health and make no mistake, it is a war fought in our brains and bodies. We know what it takes to be healthy, as Michael Pollen put it, “Eat food, mostly plants, not too much”, move your body and prioritize sleep. It’s time to get to work. Forget quick fixes that temporarily make the scale go down but are really a waste of time. Get serious about taking control of yourself.

What are you willing to commit to doing every day for the rest of your life? Start small to build habits that last in these three areas - what you eat, how you move and sleep. Set clear standards and practice them every day. To make this happen start practicing ME (Mastery and Excellence) time every morning. The first thing you do before checking email or social media is set your intentions for the day ahead. It won’t take long, start with 5 minutes to review your standards. Prime your brain for success, focus on practice and forget expectations about the outcome. There is no quick fix so get to work making lasting change your mission.
